Telangiectasia also known as ‘Spider Veins’ are small clusters of red or blue veins, they can appear on both the legs and face and can occur in healthy people or a result of an underlying illness.
Results vary from client to client depending on the size and location of the Spider Vein. Clients will notice results immediately, though may need more than one treatments to achieve optimal results.
Telangiectasia is a common skin condition that usually effects clients in their 40s, 50’s and 60’s. The condition is where widened blood vessels cause threadlike red lines or patterns on the skin, these lines usually appear slowly over a period of time and usually in small clusters.
These ‘spider’ like veins are common on areas such the cheeks, nose and legs, whilst they are in no way life threatening, they are usually noticeable and can cause clients to feel self conscious. At Aesthetics of Liverpool we use Short Wave Diathermy to effectively remove Spider Veins.
Short Wave Diathermy
Short Wave Diathermy treatment involves the use of a fine tip needle. A Local Anasthetic cream is applied to minimise discomfort. An electrical current is passed though the spider veins using a fine, sterile needle. SWD has a 95% success rate after one treatment session.
Spider Veins vary in appearance but can have the following characteristics:
• Appear close to the surface of the skin.
• Look like spider webs or tree branches.
• They are usually red and blue.
• Most commonly occur on the legs and face.
• Can often occur next to Varicose Veins.
