Warts, Skin tags, Moles and Blood Spots are common skin conditions. Whilst they are usually not harmful, often they can effect confidence and many of our clients choose to have them removed.
Results vary dependant on client, whilst some clients will have a Skin Lesion e.g Mole removed in one session others may require multiple treatments.
At Aesthetics of Liverpool we are able to effectively remove Skin Lesions using either Short Wave Diathermy or Laser Therapy. The form of treatment that will be used will be discussed in your initial consultation:
Skin tags are flesh coloured or brown growths, they hang from the surface of the skin and are usually found in the armpits, on the neck, around the groin or on the eyelids. Skin tags are usually harmless but many choose to have them removed.
Moles are brown or black in colour and they tend to develop as a result of sun exposure though they can appear spontaneously anywhere on the body. It is important to monitor Moles for any irregular changes, it is important to visit your GP to check moles as changes to a mole may be an indication of a skin cancer called Melanoma.
Warts are highly contagious skin growths that vary in both size and appeance whilst Warts are benign (non-cancerous) they can occasionally itch or bleed and lead a person to feel self conscious of certain areas of their body.
Cherry Angiomas are more regularly referred to as Blood Spots and are small red spots that are usually circular or ovular in shape. They can appear on the body spontaneously and the reason behind there appearance is unknown. Whilst blood spots are harmless if they change colour, shape, itch or bleed then it is recommended to schedule an appointment with your GP.
Warts vary in appearance but can have the following characteristics:
• Round or Oval Shaped.
• Be firm and raised.
• Have a rough irregular surface similar to a cauliflower.
• Often develop on the knuckles, fingers and knees.
• Vary in size, from less than 1mm to more than 10mm (1cm) in diameter
